What am I doing?
On March 13, 2010, I will join thousands of others  playing a part in the annual Susan G. Komen Southwest Florida Race for the Cure®.  By making a donation on my behalf, you are supporting local breast cancer screening, treatment, education and outreach along with cutting edge international research that will one day lead us to a world without breast cancer. 

Seventy-five percent of our net proceeds stay here in Southwest Florida to help women in need and twenty-five percent is applied towards ground-breaking research. This year our local Affiliate was able to put $963,000 into programs that help people in the Southwest Florida area.

What does Susan G. Komen do?
For more than 25 years, Susan G. Komen for the Cure has played a critical role in every major advance in the fight against breast cancer ? Transforming how the world  treats this disease, and helping to turn millions of breast cancer patients into breast cancer survivors.

Over the next 25 years, an estimated 25 million women around the world will be diagnosed with breast cancer if we do not find a cure.  Komen for the Cure will not stop until we discover and deliver the cures. That is our promise.

It is likely you know someone who has been diagnosed with breast cancer perhaps you or your spouse, a relative, coworker, neighbor or friend  someone in your life's circle who has heard the words, "You have breast cancer."  

You see, breast cancer doesn't care whether you are a woman or a man, so we have to care!
